In ‘Rapid Transit’, HUB dives into the London underground searching for hidden stories. This hurried anonymous hub changes into a place full of interesting stories and creative characters.
Young Frenchman, Jeremy Angelier hangs out in the London underground for eighteen hours and starts spontaneous conversations with strangers to see what happens.
KYOTO Rapid Transit Fall Winter 2014
Inspired by the city under the ground we’ve used different textures we found in subway stations. Rough, weathered walls, shiny tiling, contrast between light and dark, all of which we’ve translated to materials with a worn-out, but stylish look. Also the typical subway colours such as black, grey, taupe, brown and sallow green give an underground, artificially lit look. It’s the world underground through the eyes of HUB.
A hub is a place where people meet and connect. Our fascination for hubs, especially those in cities, was the inspiration to start HUB in 2004 and it still is today.
Our latest fascination is RAPID TRANSIT, a place where people commute mostly underground. It's this world that inspired the Fall|Winter collection and the Rapid Transit theme.
